Grand Ladakh Expedition

Day 1 – Arrival in Leh | Acclimatization

Arrive at Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport in Leh, where you will be greeted by breathtaking views of the mighty Himalayan ranges, including peaks like K2, Nanga Parbat, Gasherbrum, and Nun Kun (weather permitting). You will be transferred to your hotel for check-in, where a welcome drink awaits. The day is kept free for acclimatization due to the high altitude. You may relax at the hotel or take a light walk around the surroundings if you feel comfortable. In the evening, enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and reflect on the beauty of Ladakh. Overnight stay in Leh.

Day 2 – Exploring Sham Valley

After breakfast, proceed for a scenic drive along the Leh–Srinagar Highway to explore Sham Valley. Visit the Hall of Fame, a museum maintained by the Indian Army showcasing the region’s history and bravery. Continue to Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, a revered Sikh shrine dating back to the 15th century. Experience the unique phenomenon at Magnetic Hill, where vehicles appear to defy gravity. Witness the stunning confluence at Indus Zanskar Confluence, where two rivers merge beautifully. Also visit Spituk Monastery, an ancient Buddhist site known for its spiritual ambiance. Return to Leh in the evening. Overnight stay in Leh.

Day 3 – Leh to Nubra Valley via Khardung La

After an early breakfast, begin your journey towards Nubra Valley, also known as the “Valley of Flowers.” Drive through the iconic Khardung La Pass (18,380 ft), one of the highest motorable roads in the world. Enjoy panoramic views of snow-capped peaks and rugged terrain. Upon arrival, explore the beautiful areas of Diskit and Hunder, known for their white sand dunes and cold desert landscapes. You may also opt for a camel safari on the rare double-humped Bactrian camels. Overnight stay in Nubra Valley.

Day 4 – Turtuk Village Discovery

After breakfast, drive towards Turtuk, a unique and culturally rich village located near the Line of Control. Opened to tourists in 2009, Turtuk offers a rare glimpse into Balti culture, traditions, and lifestyle. Explore its narrow lanes, traditional homes, apricot orchards, and ancient royal houses, along with monasteries overlooking the Shyok River. Interact with locals and experience their warm hospitality. Later, return to Nubra Valley and spend a peaceful evening amidst nature. Overnight stay in Nubra Valley.

Day 5 – Diskit Monastery | Transfer to Pangong Lake

After breakfast, visit Diskit Monastery, a 15th-century monastery offering panoramic views of Nubra Valley and home to the iconic Maitreya Buddha statue. Later, proceed towards Pangong Lake via the scenic Shayok route. The journey is filled with dramatic landscapes and river views. Upon arrival at Pangong Lake (14,500 ft), witness its mesmerizing blue waters stretching across the Indo-China border. Spend the evening relaxing by the lakeside, soaking in the tranquil beauty. Overnight stay near Pangong Lake.

Day 6 – Pangong to Leh via Chang La Pass

Wake up early to witness a magical sunrise at Pangong Lake. After breakfast, begin your return journey to Leh via Chang La Pass (17,370 ft), one of the highest mountain passes in the world. En route, visit Thiksey Monastery, an architectural marvel resembling Tibet’s Potala Palace. Continue to Shey Palace, the former royal residence with a large Buddha statue. You may also visit the famous Rancho School from the movie 3 Idiots. Arrive in Leh by evening and relax. Overnight stay in Leh.

Day 7 – Leh City Tour

After breakfast, explore the cultural highlights of Leh. Visit the serene Shanti Stupa, offering panoramic views and symbolizing peace. Continue to the historic Leh Palace, a 16th-century royal structure with stunning views of the town. Later, explore the vibrant Leh Market, where you can shop for local handicrafts, souvenirs, and enjoy Ladakhi cuisine. Spend the evening at leisure. Overnight stay in Leh.

Day 8 – Departure

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and transfer to Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport for your onward journey. Depart with unforgettable memories of Ladakh’s majestic landscapes, high-altitude passes, and rich cultural heritage.
